If you want to make a complaint about a HM Land Registry
service, you can use our online complaint form.
Before you start
We'll ask you for any information that supports your complaint. This may include:
- an Information Rights reference
- a title number
- a property address or description
- a HM Land Registry reference
- any documents or evidence that relates to your complaint
Help with supporting information
- If you’ve contacted the Information Rights team before, you may have an Information Rights reference.
You'll find it in the subject line of any emails we've sent you or at the top of any letter under 'Our reference'.
- You can find the title number on HM Land Registry documents, like copies of the title register, or a letter we've sent you.
- A property address or description is how we identify the address your complaint relates to. For example, '2 Example Row, Exeter, EX1 5AW' or 'land to the east side of Newgate Road'.
- A HM Land Registry reference is also known as a HMLR reference, HMLR Application reference or Application Barcode Reference (ABR).
